The Venetian mosquito

This artwork presents an imaginary and estrambòtic vision of Venice’s main square—the starting point of the mosquito’s journey through The 10 Cities. But the mosquito begins his adventure in a drunken state, and so nothing here appears stable: there are no straight lines, everything flows, distorts, or floats in an strambòtic atmosphere.
It is a free and vibrant homage to Giorgio de Chirico, a deeply admired artist by Quim Hereu, with whom he shares the desire to move away from the visible world in order to reveal mystery and imagination.
Venice is not a city—it is an altered state of consciousness, where seny gives way to rauxa, and through the mosquito’s spherical eyes, we see a world without filters or logic.om a Girona legend—is no longer nun nor monster: she is a living metaphor for the right to be different, to grow, and to fly beyond what we were told we could become.
