The caravan of porrò men
This work, part of the series The 10 Cities, depicts an imaginary desert.
A caravan crosses the arid landscape, but instead of heads, the characters have porrons—the traditional Catalan glass vessel used for drinking wine.
There is a popular Catalan expression that says: “t’has begut l’enteniment” (“You’ve drunk your judgment), used when someone has lost their reason or makes a foolish decision.
These beings walk through the desert in search of common sense which, metaphorically, they have drunk—hoping to refill their heads with reason. A reason they will never find, because it does not exist.
